Status of satellite data receiving and utilization

Starting with APT data receiving from the polar orbit meteorological satellite, NOAA in 1970, Korea Meteorological Administration has received and used the data for around 40 years. Next, on 1978, reached to use the satellite observation data to weather forecast regularly while the geostationary orbit meteorological satellite, GMS-1 received the data regularly 3 times a day. The real-time satellite data have been received from geostationary orbit satellite, MTSAT-2, Chinese FY-2D and polar orbit satellites, NOAA-15, 18, 19 and NPP of USA and European MetOp on October 2013 status quo.
